How to understand EAP management mode
The Employee Assistant Program (EAP) is a new welfare project popular in Europe and America. Today's EAP has become extremely rich in content, helping employees solve personal problems 360 degrees in all directions. With the expansion of multinational companies, the overseas military, academic exchanges and the training of international students by business schools, EAP in the United States was introduced to Europe and other regions. EAP has made great progress and been widely used not only in the United States, but also in developed countries such as Britain, Canada, Australia and Japan. By the end of 1990s, more than 90% of the Fortune 500 enterprises had established EAP. Nearly 10% employees in the UK are served by EAP. EAP is a systematic and long-term assistance and welfare plan for employees. Through professional diagnosis, advice, professional guidance, training and consultation for employees and their immediate family members, it aims to help solve the psychological and behavioral problems of employees and their family members, so as to improve their work performance in the organization and improve organizational management. This paper holds that from the perspective of management, EAP is a new management technology and method, which can better reflect the "humanized management" of enterprises to employees. EAP is suitable for enterprises of any type and size. But it is more suitable for some special enterprise types, special departments and special situations. In terms of enterprise scale, it is suitable for enterprises with more than 100 employees; From the perspective of enterprise types, it is suitable for service industry, aviation industry, ocean shipping industry and industries with special requirements for safety; In the enterprise department, it is more suitable for people who have direct contact with customers (such as customer service department and sales department); EAP plays a more significant role in the period of institutional merger, layoffs, business start-ups and crisis events.
