Is the drug god Yan Di or Shennong?

The god of medicine is Shennong.

Shennong is the god of medicine in our country. It is said that he has a god whip called "Zhebian". As soon as this magic whip is drawn on herbs, the medicinal properties can be distinguished. Whether it is warm or cold, toxic or non-toxic, it is clear at a glance. Then he treats people according to the different properties of these herbs.

Another legend says that he personally tried various herbs, chewed them in his mouth and determined their properties one by one. He was poisoned 70 times in one day. Fortunately, unlike ordinary mortals, he can detoxify himself.

Shennong and Yan Di are not necessarily the same person.

From the perspective of tribal totem, Shennong's "dragon head" takes dragons as totems, and Yan Di's "human head" and cattle as totems, which are obviously two different tribes. Unless, Shennong and Yan Di annexed each other's tribes and won the title of "Shennong Yan Di".

More importantly, in the pre-Qin history books, Shennong was Shennong and Yan Di was Yan Di, and the two were never confused. Although it is not explicitly pointed out that Shennong and Yan Di are two people, it is not explicitly stated that they are the same person. Many bamboo books of the Warring States period, such as Rong, discovered by archaeology, also prove that the pre-Qin history books recorded that neither Emperor Yan nor Shennong confused Shennong with Yandi.
