The difference between Federation of Industry and Commerce and SASAC

The Federation of Industry and Commerce and the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission are two important institutions of China government in the economic field, and their functions and roles are different.

The Federation of Industry and Commerce, the full name of China Federation of Industry and Commerce, is a non-profit social organization voluntarily formed by industrial and commercial enterprises from all walks of life. The main task of the Federation of Industry and Commerce is to represent and safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of private economy and market players and promote the healthy development of industrial and commercial enterprises. Its members are mainly non-state-owned enterprises, private enterprises, individual industrial and commercial households and other market entities, representing the interests of the private economy.

The full name of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council is SASAC, which is directly managed and supervised by the China Municipal Government. SASAC is mainly responsible for the supervision and management of central enterprises and other state-owned assets in the State Council, formulating and implementing policies and regulations on state-owned assets, and promoting the reform and development of state-owned enterprises.

Therefore, it can be concluded that the main task of the Federation of Industry and Commerce is to represent and safeguard the interests of private economy and market players, while the main responsibility of SASAC is to supervise and manage state-owned assets and promote the reform and development of state-owned enterprises.
