Advantages and disadvantages of bone headphones

Advantages of bone headphones:

Bone conduction is based on the principle of bone vibration to transmit sound, which is not in the ear and does not need to be transmitted directly through the eardrum. The new concept of bone sense conduction directly transmits sound to the nerves inside the ear through the skull, so the influence of headphones on ear hearing can be minimized. In addition, the bone conduction earphone is not in the ear, which is very helpful to keep the internal hygiene of the ear.

Disadvantages of bone headphones:

Bone conduction headphones can clearly transmit sound into the inner ear through the skull, but for the sake of wearing comfort, they will not be completely close to the skull, so some will cause air vibration, which will lead to sound leakage.

Related introduction:

Compared with the classical sound transmission method which generates sound waves through the diaphragm, bone conduction saves many steps of sound wave propagation, and can realize clear sound reproduction in noisy environment, and sound waves will not affect others when they propagate in the air. Bone conduction technology is divided into bone conduction speaker technology and bone conduction microphone technology:

(1) bone conduction speaker technology is used to speak, that is, to listen to sound. The air conduction speaker converts electrical signals into sound waves (vibration signals) and transmits them to the auditory nerve. Bone conduction speaker is a sound wave (vibration signal) converted from electrical signal, which is directly transmitted to auditory nerve through bone. The propagation media of sound waves (vibration signals) are different.

(2) Bone conduction microphone technology is used to receive words, that is, to collect sounds. Air-guided speech is that sound waves pass through the air to the microphone, while bone-guided speech is transmitted directly through bones.
