Water: a neglected nutrient
Water is the most abundant component in human body, and it is also used to digest food and deliver nutrients to various tissues. It needs to excrete human waste, circulate body fluids (such as blood and lymph), lubricate joints and internal organs (keep them moist so that substances can pass through cells and blood vessels), and regulate body temperature. Water is a part of the blood system, containing dissolved minerals, like dissolved calcium and magnesium, which are needed by human tissues to maintain health.
Because water is easy to get, it is often ignored in daily life. In fact, water is an important macro nutrient in human body, accounting for about 70% of human body weight.
Nutrients, also known as nutrients, are divided into three categories according to their physiological functions:
Structural nutrients-protein, fat, carbohydrate, macromolecular minerals, etc.
Regulate nutrients-vitamins, trace elements, hormones, etc.
Culture medium nutrient-water.
Most people have heard, read or experienced these functions of water, but it is ridiculous that most of us suffer from dehydration, and only when we feel dry do we think we need enough water. This medical misunderstanding has led to a wide range of chronic dehydration, and many health problems have followed.
The book "The Call of Human Body for Water" written by Feereydoon Batmanghelidj, MD, discusses in detail the physiological importance of forgotten water and many signals of dehydration of the body.
When water is sufficient, blood viscosity, articular cartilage tissue, capillaries, digestive system, ATP (adenosine triphosphate) energy system and spine all work normally and effectively. However, when the consumption of water is limited, the body will invade some parts to protect different tissues and organs, which will lead to pain, tissue damage and various health problems.
When drinking enough water, some health problems can be solved or alleviated, such as asthma, allergies, hypertension, high cholesterol, headache, migraine, back pain, rheumatoid arthritis, angina pectoris and intermittent claudication (such as cramps caused by insufficient blood supply).
Professor Li Fuxing, the president of the World Water Culture Research Association and a famous expert in water nutrition, put forward in the book "Water, medicine or poison"-"Water-the main force of the future health care industry!"
1, water can not only quench thirst, but also promote health, improve quality of life, relieve diseases and assist treatment. But at present, many people do not attach importance to or even agree with this view.
2. In the future, water may become an important content and main pillar product of health care industry. At present, among the top 500 enterprises in the world, more and more enterprises specializing in health care products begin to add functional water with health care function to health care products.
3. Healthy water is the cheapest, most convenient and most effective health care product. But it should also be emphasized that not all water can play a role in health care and improve the quality of life.
Eight preventive functions of healthy water:
1, water can prevent heart disease and cerebrovascular occlusion.
2. Water can prevent obesity and lose weight.
3. Water can prevent the deposition of various crystalline salts in urine.
4, water has the effect of sterilization and detoxification, which can reduce the incidence of cancer.
5. Water helps to relieve stress, anxiety and depression.
6. Water is the regulator of natural sleep.
7, water is the best lubricant, which is conducive to laxative.
8. Water can prevent joint stiffness and restore muscle function.
Water is the king of all medicines-people take food as the sky, and water takes food first. Medicine is better than food, and food is better than water. Water is the king of all medicines and the foundation of health!
