The Department of Thyroid Surgery of Sino-Japanese Friendship Hospital of Jilin University is a specialized diagnosis and treatment department of thyroid and parathyroid gland, which integrates medical treatment, teaching, scientific research, prevention and rehabilitation. The department is based on the basic surgery of Bethune Medical University, which is famous in China. After decades of unremitting pursuit by several generations of experts and scholars, the former thyroid professional group has developed into the earliest specialized diagnosis and treatment department for thyroid diseases in China, and established the multidisciplinary diagnosis and treatment center for thyroid diseases in Jilin Province and the training base for thyroid specialists of the first Chinese Medical Doctor Association. There are 2 full professors, 3 associate professors, 2 doctoral supervisors and 2 master supervisors in the department, and all the doctors in the department have medical doctorates. The department has many high-precision and sophisticated medical auxiliary equipment, such as high-resolution color Doppler ultrasound, BARD automatic puncture biopsy equipment, KarlStorz endoscopic operating system, Medtronic intraoperative nerve monitor, RF microwave ablation instrument, etc., with strong clinical strength, skilled professional skills, advanced treatment methods and first-class service level.
After more than 20 years of professional development, the department has formed the characteristics of "standardization, personalization, minimally invasive, accurate and diversified". At present, the outpatient service area is nearly 1000 square meters, and various departments systematically carry out ultrasonic diagnosis, post-operative review, puncture biopsy, radiofrequency ablation and other diagnosis and treatment projects, with an average annual outpatient service of more than 50,000 people. At present, there are 58 beds in open wards, with an average annual operation of more than 3,000 cases, of which the proportion of malignant diseases exceeds 80%. The department innovated technical concepts, introduced advanced instruments and equipment, and carried out ultrasound-guided puncture technology (CNB, FNA) for tiny nodules, which filled the gaps in the province, greatly improved the preoperative diagnosis rate of thyroid nodules and lymph nodes, and avoided too many operations. It took the lead in developing intraoperative recurrent laryngeal nerve monitoring technology in China, and successfully completed tens of thousands of nerve monitoring to ensure the patient's beautiful voice; In order to meet the cosmetic requirements of patients with radical tumor and neck scar-free, we have developed some leading new technologies in China, such as total endoscopic thyroid surgery, radiofrequency ablation of benign nodules of thyroid and parathyroid, and instrument-assisted small incision thyroid surgery. Accurate surgical concepts and techniques can radically cure the lesions and greatly reduce the risk of complicated thyroid surgery, among which the 10-year survival rate after tumor surgery has reached the international advanced level. Young doctors in the department won the championship in the national open thyroid surgery and endoscopic surgery competition.
