I. Purpose and scheme of the study
Our college has inherited the purpose of studying advocated by Master Shang Tong and Master Xia Yong all their lives: taking Hua Yan as the Sect, abiding by the precepts and returning to the pure land.
According to this purpose, the three main learning projects are:
Learn dignity, don't insult monks, turn over a new leaf, and prove Bodhi early.
After reading the Dajue Sutra, I vowed to do all the Buddhist things.
Learn to succeed, learn to be selfish, learn to be altruistic, learn to be self-disciplined, and learn to be self-disciplined.
Second, the education policy and purpose
The educational policy of the Buddhist College is:
Spread the teachings of the Buddha, cultivate patriotic monks, strictly abide by Taoist commandments, enrich Buddhist culture, integrate learning with practice, and survive in the jungle.
The purpose of education is:
Cultivate monks who have both ability and political integrity, pay equal attention to practice, practice Buddhism and serve the society. Buddhist college not only teaches Buddhist cultural knowledge, but also pays more attention to the study of Nigerians in Buddhist groups.
And through the education mode of paying equal attention to learning and training, we will cultivate monks with basic monk manners and monk style, as well as monks who can learn Buddhism and master it.
Third, the education system.
With the guiding ideology of "learning and training are integrated, monks live in the jungle", inheriting the jungle doctrine of Han Dynasty, absorbing the essence of modern education system, and integrating traditional jungle education with modern academy education, a modern Buddhist education system with the jungle as the main body, the jungle and the academy running in parallel, the temple being managed in a unified way, and the abbot and the academy having their own division of labor and cooperation has been formed.
As a modern Buddhist college, monks study various courses according to the training plan; At the same time, as a ten-square jungle, the public must also abide by the commandments, such as morning bell and dusk drum, morning and evening classes, chanting in class, saying the commandments for half a month, and being prepared for danger in times of peace. Six monks live in * * *, and learn from monks to learn Tao with peace of mind. Learning Tao and Tao complement each other.
