What are the dietary principles of patients with chronic gastritis?

Chronic gastritis refers to chronic nonspecific inflammation of gastric mucosa, which can be divided into superficial gastritis, atrophic gastritis and hypertrophic gastritis. The cause is still unclear, which may be the sequela of acute gastritis; Long-term use of drugs that are irritating to the stomach, such as salicylic acid; Long-term consumption of foods harmful to gastric mucosa, such as strong tea, coffee, pepper, pepper, coarse grains, alcohol or bacteria or toxins from nasal cavity and oropharynx infection lesions enter the stomach and stimulate the gastric mucosa for a long time. Chronic gastritis can also be secondary to organ damage of the stomach, such as cancer or ulcer; Helicobacter pylori infection in gastric antrum can weaken the resistance of gastric mucosa and cause chronic gastritis. In addition, some careless diets that cause acute gastritis can also lead to chronic gastritis.

Dietary treatment of chronic gastritis;

(1) Eliminate the cause.

Thoroughly treat acute gastritis, quit smoking and drinking, and avoid using foods and drugs harmful to gastric mucosa. Actively treat chronic inflammation of oral cavity, nasal cavity and throat.

(2) Balanced diet

Eat more protein with high biological value and foods rich in vitamins to maintain or promote health, and pay attention to supplement vitamin C and B vitamins, such as vitamin B 12 and folic acid. Anemia patients should eat more foods rich in iron, such as animal viscera, eggs, dark fresh vegetables and fruits.

(3) Food choice

Choose light, less greasy, less irritating and digestible food. Irritating foods such as pepper, onion, garlic and pepper are not conducive to the recovery of gastric mucosal inflammation, so we should fast.

(4) keep acid-base balance

When gastric acid secretion is excessive in superficial gastritis, milk, soybean milk, steamed bread with alkali, vegetable paste, noodles, etc. Can be ingested to neutralize stomach acid. When atrophic gastritis has low gastric acid, eat foods that stimulate gastric acid secretion, such as thick soup, chicken soup, sour fruit or juice, aromatic condiments, etc., to help digestion.

(5) Small amount and multiple meals

Don't overeat every meal to reduce the burden on your stomach. Use a combination of dry and porridge to avoid insufficient energy intake.
