1. Professional introduction
Mental and mental health majors pay attention to the cultivation of leadership and practical ability, so that students can provide advanced mental and mental health care for families and individuals of all ages. Whether studying for a degree or taking a non-degree certificate course, students are eligible to take the national qualification examination implemented by the American Nurse Certification Center after graduation, and become mental and mental health nursing professional nurses after passing the examination.
This major focuses on promoting mental health so that evidence-based assessment and treatment plans can be used to serve patients of all ages and their families. Nurses majoring in mental and mental health care can engage in psychotherapy and drug addiction treatment, lead teams in these two aspects, promote the designation of project policies, and participate in promoting patient rehabilitation, patient education and research.
2. Occupational characteristics
Studying mental and mental health nursing at Purdue University, I have the opportunity to participate in clinical practice under the guidance of doctors, and spend 630 hours in it, engaging in multidisciplinary study and research. Purdue University West lafayette Campus provides opportunities to participate in research. The research and practice points are distributed in many clinics run and managed by Purdue University nurses.
It takes five semesters and 49 credits to complete this major. This major uses distance learning technology to enable students to learn remotely.
