East and northwest Guangdong refers to eastern Guangdong, western Guangdong, and northern Guangdong.

East Guangdong, is the eastern region of Guangdong Province, including the three prefecture-level cities of Jieyang, Shantou, and Chaozhou (from the provincial capital to the east).

Western Guangdong, short for the western part of Guangdong Province, includes the three prefecture-level cities of Zhanjiang, Maoming and Yangjiang.
