In order to implement the "Chinese People's *** and the State Environmental Protection Law" and "Chinese People's *** and the State Environmental Noise Pollution Prevention and Control Law", to protect the environment, safeguard human health, and prevent and control environmental noise pollution, the "Acoustic Environment Quality Standard" is hereby approved as the national environmental quality standard, and jointly issued by the Ministry of Commerce and the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People's Republic of China.
According to the characteristics of the area's use function and environmental quality requirements, the acoustic environment functional area is divided into the following five types:
Class 0 acoustic environment functional area: refers to rehabilitation and convalescent areas and other areas in particular need of quiet.
Class 1 acoustic environment functional zone: refers to residential, medical and health care, culture and sports, scientific research and design, administrative offices as the main function, need to maintain quiet areas.
Class 2 acoustic environment functional area: refers to commercial and financial, market trade as the main function, or residential, commercial, industrial mixed, need to maintain residential quiet area.
Class 3 acoustic environment functional zone: refers to industrial production, warehousing and logistics as the main function, the need to prevent industrial noise on the surrounding environment has a serious impact on the area.
Class 4 acoustic environment functional zone: refers to a certain area on both sides of the traffic arteries, the need to prevent traffic noise from having a serious impact on the surrounding environment, including two types of 4a and 4b. 4a for highways, primary highways, secondary highways, urban expressways, urban main roads, urban secondary roads, urban rail transit (ground section), inland waterways on both sides of the area; 4b for the railway arteries on both sides of the area.
