No.

Most swabs are produced in clean environments as required by current regulations and do not need to be sterilized, and this part of the product is managed as a Class I medical device for the record.

A very small number of swabs for specific purposes are produced in a clean environment and then sterilized after packaging, and these products are managed by registration as Class II medical devices. Sterilized medical devices should be analyzed accordingly, and after passing the test, they can be marketed and sold.

It is recommended that it is best not to eat anything within two hours, and not to drink any water, alcohol or chewing gum for 30 minutes in advance, to avoid possible manifestations of vomiting and regurgitation during the sampling process.
