Huawei's 5G CPE Pro made its debut at the pre-communication meeting of the 20 19 Mobile World Congress, officially at MWC in February, and at CESA in June. In July, it became the first 5G device in China to obtain a network access license for telecommunication equipment of 5G wireless data terminals, which is a representative case of industrial application of 5G terminals.
At the event site, Huawei product manager first reviewed the achievements made by Huawei 5G CPE Pro since its listing, then explained the product features and applications, and finally showed its four future application scenarios.
Three product characteristics
According to the introduction, Huawei 5G CPE Pro has three major product features.
First, 5G has strong performance. Huawei's 5G CPE Pro not only has a powerful Ba Long 5000 chip, but also has built-in Huawei's original 5G all-band multipolar butterfly antenna. The antenna can expand the receiving range of 5G signals by 30% and reduce the antenna size by 20%, ensuring 5G high-frequency coverage and 360-degree reception of signals.
Thanks to Huawei's original 5G optimal location algorithm, users can also get the best 5G CPE Pro placement location through Huawei Smart Home APP at home. If multiple devices are used together, the product can also plan its own Wi-Fi coverage area to avoid interference from nearby areas.
Second, backward compatibility. Even in areas where the 5G network is not covered, Huawei's 5G CPE Pro is useful. Because Baron 5000 chip adopts single-chip multimode 5G module, it can realize various network standards of 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G in a single chip, which can be backward compatible and effectively reduce the delay and power consumption caused by data exchange between multimode. At the same time, Huawei 5G CEP Pro can also be used as a router for home wired broadband.
The third is to support long-term evolution. Huawei's 5G CPE Pro is the first in the world to support NAS and SA networking, FDD and TDD full-band use. Therefore, Huawei 5G CPE Pro can help users get through the transitional stage of hybrid networking and play a better role in the future SA-based 5G era.
Four application scenarios
According to reports, Huawei's 5G CPE Pro belongs to Huawei's 5G MBB terminal, which helps 5G applications to land around 5 G+X and has four core scenarios.
The first is to replace home broadband for consumers. In the past, the upper limit speed of 100 Mbps broadband at home was too low, and the upper limit speed of 5G CPE Pro depended on 5G signals, which far exceeded the fixed network.
The second is for enterprises. Large and medium-sized enterprises can use 5G CPE Pro as broadband access to lay out smart parks, and small and medium-sized enterprises can also use 5G CPE Pro to deploy private broadband. Especially for small merchants who are inconvenient to handle broadband services, using 5G CPE Pro in the 5G era can completely avoid inconvenience and enjoy 5G network speed.

They take Huawei 5G CPE Pro as the connection center, and with Huawei 5G CPE Pro's support for Huawei HiLink protocol, they realize one-click access and intelligent control through Huawei Smart Home APP and Huawei AI speakers.
At the scene, Global Network Technology connected Huawei 5G CPE Pro to measure the speed through Huawei Matebook X Pro. The results show that the conversion speed of 5G signal to WiFi is close to 1000Mbps, far exceeding that of fixed network and 4G. If operators provide reasonable tariff packages, in the 5G era, wireless broadband with 5G CPE as the terminal is expected to replace optical cats/routers and open the era of home broadband wireless.
