In today's remote sensing image processing software, the most common international PCI Geomatica developed by Canadian PCI, ERDAS Imagine developed by American ERDAS LLC, and ENVI developed by American Research System INC. The main domestic remote sensing image processing software are RSIES developed by Sanlian Company of the former Ministry of Geology and Mining, IRSA developed by the National Research Center for Remote Sensing Application Technology, SAR INFORS jointly developed by China Academy of Forestry and Beida Institute of Remote Sensing, and CASM ImageInfo jointly developed by China Academy of Surveying and Mapping and Siwei Company.
The above software have their own characteristics, but all of them have functional deficiencies in comparison. On the whole, foreign software is relatively powerful, but the interface is not suitable for Chinese people's habit, and the coordinate system lacks the common Beijing/Xi'an coordinate system, which is difficult to learn and expensive; domestic software has the features of friendly interface, cheap price and easy to master, but the function needs to be further improved in comparison. The use of remote sensing software in the past 10 years tells me that PCI is more suitable for image mapping, ERDAS has the best data fusion effect, and ENVI has the most powerful function in information extraction for image element processing. Among the domestic software, RSIES can be applied in the simple remote sensing interpretation of regional geological survey, IRSA can carry out some routine image processing work, SARINFORS is the software specially developed for imaging radar, and CASM ImageInfo is the relatively better domestic remote sensing software.
