1. Security and Tourism:

Benin's infrastructure is weak, with outdated equipment and low production capacity.In 2013, the ratio of output to GDP was 13%. The main industries are food processing, textile and building materials. The industrial population accounts for about 11.6% of the country's labor force. Since the implementation of structural adjustment, some enterprises have been privatized, and the remaining large state-owned enterprises will be privatized one by one.

As of 2006, there were 1,302 medical and health institutions of various types, including five national hospitals (National Central Hospital in Cotonou, Tuberculosis Central Hospital, Psychiatric Center Hospital, Geriatric Center Hospital and Lagoon Maternity and Child Health Center), five provincial central hospitals and a number of Bururi ulcer hospitals (Porto-Novo Hospital, Lokosha Hospital, Abomey, Ouidah and Natidan hospitals), 34 communal hospitals and 508 health centers at all levels. There are also 890 private hospitals and clinics. Benin has 90% coverage of health services. There are 4,053 hospital beds and 5,833 medical personnel of all types in the country***.
