IO interface refers to the input/output interface, which is used to connect the computer system and external devices to realize the input and output of data. Common IO interfaces are USB interface, serial port, parallel port, network port and so on. These interfaces can realize the input and output of digital signals, but do not necessarily have the isolation function.
Optoelectronic isolation input/output, on the other hand, is a kind of input/output method with isolation function, which isolates the input signal and output signal through the internal optoelectronic isolator, so as to realize the isolation of input/output signal. This method can effectively prevent electrical interference and electromagnetic wave interference, and improve the stability and reliability of the system.
So, although both IO interface and opto-isolated input/output can realize input/output function, their functions and application scenarios are different. If you need to realize signal isolation and protection, especially in industrial control and other fields, it is recommended to use photoelectric isolation input and output.
