Introduction: Enshi Central Hospital was founded in 1902, and was reorganized in October 1998 by the merger of the former Enshi State People's Hospital (a Grade 3A general hospital) and the Enshi State Ethnic Hospital (a Grade 3A traditional Chinese medicine hospital), and it is a Grade 3A hospital integrating medical treatment, scientific research, teaching and health care. The Western Medicine Department based on the former State People's Hospital and the Traditional Chinese Medicine Department based on the Enshi State Ethnic Hospital are located in the new medical center of Enshi Economic Development Zone, which covers an area of 325 acres, has completed the overall planning and will be constructed soon. The hospital has 1900 beds and 2600 beds are actually open.
