The Fourth People's Hospital of Changde City is a comprehensive Grade 2A hospital which integrates medical treatment, scientific research and teaching. It was founded in 1937 as Changde County People's Hospital, and was renamed as the Fourth People's Hospital of Changde City after it was changed to a city in 1988, and was designated as the only county-level hospital with pediatrics by the Ministry of Health in the province in 1935. In 1935, it was designated by the Ministry of Health as the only county-level hospital with pediatrics in the province. In 1984, it was awarded "Civilized Hospital" by the Provincial Department of Health, in 1995, it was awarded "Grade 2A Hospital" by the Ministry of Health, and in 1996, it was awarded "Baby-Friendly Hospital" by the United Nations World Health Organization. In 1997, it was assessed and evaluated by the Provincial Department of Health as "Four Satisfaction Service Competition Winning Unit", in 1998, it was awarded the District Price Trustworthy Unit, in 1999, it was awarded the District Drug Quality Trustworthy Unit, and in 2002, it was awarded the Municipal "11.11" Advanced Hospital for Treatment and Rescue Work. In 2002, it was honored as the advanced unit of rescue and treatment work in the case of "11.11" of the city, in 2003 and 20(14), it was honored as the advanced unit of target management of the district, in 2003, it was honored as the advanced collective of anti-SARS of the city, in 2004, it was honored as the unit of displaying the golden list of the China Quality Miles, and it was honored as the "People's Reliable Hospital" of the city for the three years in a row in 2002, 2003 and 2004. In 2004, it was awarded the "China Quality Mileage" Golden Showcase Unit, and in 2002, 2003 and 2004, it was awarded the "People's Reliable Hospital" and "People's Satisfaction Hospital" in the city, and it is also the clinical teaching hospital of Xiangya School of Medicine of Central South University.
