The long-form registration of the seventh national census will start from 1 1.06 in 2020 and end before 1. 1.30. After the short form is registered, the State Council Census Office will select 10% of the households to fill in the form. The sample box does not include Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan residents and foreigners, families with hukou, families who have lived outdoors for more than half a year, families who have left the local area due to house demolition or relocation, and empty households without hukou.
Population census work
The census work includes the whole process of collecting census data, summarizing data, evaluating data, analyzing research, editing and publishing. Its purpose is to fully grasp the basic situation of the national population, provide a basis for studying and formulating population policies and economic and social development plans, and provide population information services for the public.
The census work shall be organized and implemented in accordance with the principles of unified national leadership, division of labor and cooperation among departments, local grading responsibility and participation of all parties. The State Council leads the national census in a unified way, and studies and decides on major issues in the census. Local people's governments at all levels shall lead the census work within their respective administrative areas in accordance with the unified regulations and requirements of the State Council.
Scientifically and effectively organize and implement the national population census to ensure the authenticity, accuracy, completeness and timeliness of census data. According to the Statistics Law of the People's Republic of China, the Regulations on the National Population Census are formulated. State organs, social organizations, enterprises and institutions shall participate in and cooperate with the census work in accordance with the Statistics Law of the People's Republic of China and the Regulations on the National Census.
