Humanistic environment
"Renovate the old and make new things, gain treasures and live in peace". Bao'an has a long history. It was the land of Baiyue in the Xia, Shang and Zhou dynasties. In the sixth year of Xianhe in the Eastern Jin Dynasty (AD 331), Bao'an County was established. It has been more than 1,600 years ago. Due to historical reasons and special geographical location, the land of Baoan has given birth to Hong Kong, the "Pearl of the Orient", and Shenzhen, the "overnight city" of reform and opening up.
Baoan District is part of the original Baoan County. It was established on January 1, 1993 and governs Xixiang, Fuyong, Shajing, Songgang, Gongming, Shiyan, Longhua, Guanlan, Xin'an, and Guangming Ten street offices. The original Longhua Subdistrict Office has been divided into three subdistricts, namely Dalang, Minzhi, and Longhua. Last year, Shenzhen merged Gongming and Guangming to form Guangming New District. At the end of 2006, the district's permanent population was 3.3801 million, a year-on-year increase of 2.4%. Among them, the registered population was 393,600, an increase of 10.9%. The temporary resident population was 2.9865 million, an increase of 1.4%. The birth rate of the registered population is 13.74‰, a year-on-year decrease of 0.2 percentage points; the natural population growth rate is 11.72‰; the fertility rate within the policy is 97.59%. Baoan has a profound history and culture, leaving behind many unique folk customs. Such as the custom of eating "Pon Choi", the Kirin lion dance in Fuyong Town, the dragon boat racing in Songgang Town, the Double Ninth Festival mountain climbing in Shiyan Town, the kite flying in Gongming Town, etc. In terms of historical sites, the Fengyan Ancient Temple, Fenghuang Zen Temple, Wengong Temple and Wenchang Pagoda on Fenghuang Mountain are said to have been built by Wen Tianxiang's grandnephew.
National economic growth achieved new breakthroughs. Preliminary calculations show that in 2006, the region's GDP exceeded 150 billion yuan for the first time, reaching 152.00 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 20.1%, ranking first among the six districts in Shenzhen in both volume and speed. Among them, the added value of the primary industry was 400 million yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 17.3%; the added value of the second industry was 101.500 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 25.8% (of which industry was 98.416 billion yuan, an increase of 25.8%); the added value of the third industry 50.10 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 12.0%. The ratio of the three industries in the national economy is 0.26:66.78 (industry is 64.75):32.96. The per capita GDP calculated based on the permanent population was 45,392 yuan (equivalent to 5,761 US dollars), a year-on-year increase of 16.9%.
The main problems existing in the national economy and social development are: the region's economy is mainly export-oriented, there are few independent brand products, and core technologies are not mastered, which restricts the increase of industrial added value; the industrial structure is mainly processing and manufacturing, and basic raw materials Rising product prices, international trade frictions and other reasons have led to a significant increase in enterprise production costs, making it more difficult to improve industrial economic benefits; the three major livelihood issues of "housing, education, and medical care" have affected residents' consumer confidence; economic development is affected by land, energy, and capital, etc. Resource factors are severely constrained; continue to maintain a good investment, working and living environment, and social security issues cannot be relaxed.
The origin of the place name
"Bao'an Bao'an, you will be safe with treasure"
There is Baoshan in Bao'an, "You will be safe with treasure". There is a book in the Ming Dynasty that records: "Those who get the treasure will be safe, and everyone will benefit from it." "Bao'an" has its own name in history, which has auspicious meanings.
This "Treasure Mountain" is located in what is now Zhangmutou Town, Dongguan City. There is a book in the Song Dynasty that records: "There are treasures in the mountains of Bao'an, and a place where silver is boiled is called a stone urn place." Therefore, this "treasure" is actually a silver mine.
As a county name, "Bao'an" has a history of more than 1,670 years, counting from the Eastern Jin Dynasty in 331 AD. In 331 AD, a county was established in the Eastern Jin Dynasty, which administered six counties including Bao'an. Bao'an County included today's Shenzhen City, Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, parts of Dongguan City, southern Panyu County, Zhongshan City and other areas. This was the beginning of the establishment of county-level administrative agencies in Shenzhen and the beginning of Shenzhen's urban history.
The Shenzhen area has been under the jurisdiction of Dongguan County since the mid-Tang Dynasty. After all, the distance is far away and governance is beyond its reach. Shenzhen and Hong Kong areas have been frequently invaded by Japanese pirates and pirates. Especially after the mid-Ming Dynasty, military disasters continued. Therefore, at the suggestion of the Nantou squire, and with the support and planning of Liu Wen, the deputy envoy of Guangdong Haidao, in the first year of Wanli of the Ming Dynasty (1573), "Xin'an County" was built in the hometown of Bao'an, taking the idea of ??"reforming the old and reforming the old, eliminating dangers and creating peace". mean. From "obtaining treasures for safety" to "removing dangers for safety", we can see the people's living environment and ideals.
In 1914, due to the reorganization of administrative regions across the country, Xin'an County in Guangdong Province was renamed "Bao'an" because it had the same name as Xin'an County in Henan Province. On January 1, 1993, Bao'an was removed from the county and two districts, Bao'an and Longgang, were established under the direct jurisdiction of Shenzhen City.
The current Xin'an Subdistrict Office in Bao'an District has inherited the name of "Xin'an" in history. There are Xin'an Avenue, Xin'an 1st Road and 4th Road, all named directly after Xin'an. There are also some roads named after the word "an", such as Yu'an 1st Road and 2nd Road, Jian'an Road, Anle Road, etc.
