The school was formerly known as Shandong Wanjie Medical College, founded in 1995, in 1999 approved by the Ministry of Education to establish a private Shandong Wanjie Medical Higher Specialized School, in 2008 upgraded to undergraduate colleges and universities in Shandong Wanjie Medical College, in 2015 was renamed Qilu College of Medicine.
