In recent years, the college has adhered to the "high-level, research-oriented and outward-looking" mode of operation, adapted to the needs of the society, gradually expanded the scale of undergraduate and postgraduate education, and cultivated a batch of high-level Chinese medicine talents for the society. At present, the opening specialty and direction are: five-year acupuncture and massage, five-year acupuncture and massage (rehabilitation direction), five-year Chinese medicine (orthopedics and traumatology direction), seven-year Chinese medicine acupuncture and massage English class (and Shanghai Jiao Tong University College of Foreign Languages jointly run school).

School of Nursing

The School of Nursing of Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (SUTCM) was founded on the basis of the former Shanghai Higher Medical College of Nursing and was formally established on May 12, 2000. Since its establishment six years ago, under the care and support of the party and government leaders of the school and the efforts of all teachers and students of the school, the school has taken shape and gradually improved its management system and teaching system. In 2003, with the overall relocation of the school to the Zhangjiang campus, School of Nursing faculty, teaching facilities, teaching quality, the scale of schooling and other aspects of further development, schooling comprehensive strength to further improve. According to the overall idea of school running, the college has established the guiding ideology of running the school with Chinese medicine characteristics and combination of Chinese and Western medicines and the form of running the school with "multi-level, multi-mode and outward-looking", and started to enroll nursing undergraduates (four-year undergraduates) and Chinese-foreign cooperation nursing majors (three-year junior colleges) in September, 2003, on the basis of the original single Chinese and Western medicine nursing major. The school has also begun to enroll nursing undergraduates (four-year undergraduate) and Chinese-foreign cooperative nursing programs (three-year college).

The School of Nursing has a well-structured and energetic faculty, of which 40% are graduate students. In recent years, it has undertaken a number of municipal and school-level curriculum construction and scientific research projects, won a number of teaching and scientific research awards, created municipal and school-level excellent courses, edited and participated in the editing of various types of textbooks, and published several papers in national core journals. The college has three teaching and research departments (basic nursing, clinical nursing and Chinese medicine nursing teaching and research department), a nursing teaching and research laboratory center, with advanced nursing teaching models and instruments.

The quality of teaching is the aim and goal of the college. Over the past few years, the college has been actively and steadily carrying out teaching reforms and constantly improving the quality of teaching. Under the premise of cultivating the comprehensive quality of students, it enriches and strengthens the basic courses of Chinese medicine and specialized courses of Chinese medicine in teaching content, strengthens the foreign language communication ability of students, so as to make them become the applied senior nursing talents with theories and skills of both Chinese and Western medicine, as well as rich in innovative consciousness and adapting to the social demand. Since the establishment of the College, the employment rate of our graduating students has reached 100%.

Introduction to the College of Medical Technology

The College of Medical Technology was established in January 2000, which is a second-level college focusing on cultivating medical-related higher vocational and technical talents in health care and management services according to the demand of the job market for medical higher vocational and technical talents, integrating the advantages of traditional Chinese medicine in health care and adapting to the requirements of the development of modern health care. After 7 years of management and construction, the college has developed from 2 majors of Chinese medicine pharmacy and health care massage with more than 60 students at the beginning of the establishment to a number of majors of Chinese medicine pharmacy, medical cosmetic technology and Chinese medicine nutrition, 2 off-campus school branches and 555 students ***.

Currently set up Chinese medicine nutrition teaching and research department, medical cosmetic technology teaching and research department and medical technology joint teaching and research department.
