Tacheng City belongs to Xinjiang.

Tacheng Region, also known as Tacheng City, is located in the northwestern part of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, in the central part of the Ili Kazakh Autonomous Prefecture, with a total area of 105,000 square kilometers, spanning the northwestern part of the Dzungar Basin and the mountainous areas in the west, and east of the Changji Hui Autonomous Prefecture, and with a 540.6-kilometer-long border, which accounts for about one-tenth of the land boundary of Xinjiang. As of September 2022, the resident population of the Tacheng region was 1,108,700 people.

Tacheng area is an important pivot for the construction of the core area of the Silk Road Economic Belt in Xinjiang, and Baktu Port has been an important channel for opening up to the outside world and communication since ancient times, and it is one of the 17 national Class I land ports in the whole territory, 12 kilometers away from Tacheng City, 560 kilometers away from Urumqi City, and only 800 meters away from the neighboring Baktu Port in Kazakhstan, and it is the closest to the city in Xinjiang with the best conditions for business. It is the closest and best land port in Xinjiang.

The characteristic scenic spots of Tacheng City

1, Baluk Mountain National Nature Reserve

Baluk Mountain National Nature Reserve, a national AAAA level scenic spot, is located in Yumin County and Toli County, and the main objects of protection are the germplasm resources of the wild apples of Xinjiang and the snow leopards and other key wildlife, the Snowy Ridge Spruce forests and wild Batan almond forests and other forest ecosystems. It is a relatively independent mountain range, with 24,000 mu of wild Batan almond forests in the area. There are 4 kinds of wild animals under national-level protection, including golden eagle, northern mountain goat, great bustard and snow leopard, and 44 kinds of wild animals under national-level protection, including brown bear, goitered antelope and horse deer.

2, Wusu Foshan National Forest Park

Wusu Foshan National Forest Park, located in the central part of Xinjiang's Tianshan Mountain, with a total area of 37,000 hectares, was approved to be set up as an autonomous region-level forest park in 1994, and in January 2015, it was assessed by the autonomous region's Tourism Bureau as a national AAAA-level scenic spot. Under the forest park, there are three scenic spots: Bayin Gou, Tofu Monk and Ulan Sadek Lake.
