Vaccination units should install and use cold chain temperature (humidity) monitoring systems in accordance with the provisions of the cold chain equipment for storing vaccines to record the temperature of the records to be kept for 2 years.
Vaccines in the preservation, transportation and use of all aspects of the continuous preservation of cold, this system of cold preservation is called the cold chain system. Since vaccines are temperature sensitive, every link between the department where the vaccine is manufactured and the site where the vaccine is used can be rendered ineffective by excessive temperature. In order to ensure that the vaccines used in immunization programmes are properly refrigerated throughout the entire process, from production, storage, transport, distribution to use, so that the vaccines are always kept in the prescribed state of cold preservation and the reasonable potency of the vaccines is not compromised, China has established a cold-chain cooperation project with the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF). By the end of 1989, 95% of the counties (districts) in the country's 30 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions had basically completed their cold chain equipment. The supporting equipment for the cold chain includes low-temperature cold storage for storing vaccines, ice wandering freezers, ordinary cold storage, special refrigerated trucks for transporting vaccines, vaccine transportation trucks, refrigerators, refrigerated boxes, refrigerated backpacks, as well as computers and spare parts and so on.
