Quanzhou Health School was founded in 1934, in 1958 the school was upgraded to Quanzhou University School of Medicine, and the first Chinese medicine specialty in the province. 1960 changed to Quanzhou Medical College, 1963 medical college closed, turned into Jinjiang District Health School, closed in 1968. 1974 re-opened, renamed Jinjiang District Health School. 1986 with the change of city changed to the current name. 1992 was named the provincial health system civilized health school; 1993 was approved by the provincial government as the province's first batch of provincial and ministerial-level key secondary schools; 1997, 1999 for two consecutive years was named the civilized school of Quanzhou; in 2000, June was named as the provincial health system civilized school. Since the founding of the school, it has run more than 10 specialties such as medical, Chinese medicine junior college, Chinese and western medicine doctor, acupuncture doctor, Chinese and western nursing, midwife, medical beauty, rehabilitation medicine, oral technology, clinical pharmacy, birth control doctor, health care and so on. It has trained and delivered more than 12,000 health professionals throughout the province, some of whom are scattered all over the country and in Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and Southeast Asia, and since 1986, it has been co-organized with Fujian Medical University and the Provincial College of Traditional Chinese Medicine to provide clinical medical care, Chinese and Western medicine combined with higher vocational classes, and correspondence courses for high school nurses, etc. The school now has 327 students.
