Since 1989, Wuxi No.4 People's Hospital has taken the lead in carrying out surgical treatment of snoring (palatopharyngoplasty) in the city, and so far, it has carried out diagnosis and treatment of more than 1,000 cases of various types of snoring patients. In 2000, we took the lead in setting up a sleep apnea center with advanced equipments, comprehensive treatment methods and multidisciplinary cooperation based on otorhinolaryngology in the province. It has nearly 100 square meters for sleep apnea diagnosis and treatment unit area, which contains 3 special single rooms for snoring diagnosis and monitoring room; advanced facilities for nasal and pharyngeal examination room; laser, radiofrequency and microwave treatment room; and 2 sets of imported polysomnography sleep apnea monitors, the most advanced in the international market (which can simultaneously monitor and derive nearly 14 physiological and pathological parameter charts related to this disease).
