VERDICT
The most exciting Star Trek movie in 30 years, it marks the beginning of a new saga for Captain Kirk, and if the next sequels dare to keep up the fast-paced style of this one, they will surely be the most unmissable box office bombs of the coming years. The best movie since Star Trek 2: The Wrath of Khan, and far ahead of its time in terms of audio and visual impact, JJ Abrams has succeeded in bringing back from the dead a classic series that was falling into oblivion, and although the new Star Trek doesn't have the depth of its predecessor, it can still move audiences with its boundless energy. The movie is exhilarating, and not only achieves some of the series' finest moments, but is undoubtedly one of the most colorful in the history of sci-fi cinema.
