History of Hexian County
Republic of China (1911) November 12, Hezhou restored, the end of thousands of years of feudal rule, and changed the Hezhou for the Hexian County, directly under the provincial governor.
In January 1949, the democratic county government of Hexian was established.
On April 23, 1949, the entire territory of Hexian was liberated, and in October of the same year, it was changed to the People's Government of Hexian County, which belonged to the Chaohu area. in December, it was transferred to the jurisdiction of Nanjing.
In December 1958, Hexian County merged with Hanshan County to form Hexian County, which was transferred to Maanshan City.
In April 1959, it was still under the jurisdiction of Wuhu District, and in May of the same year, Hehanshan County was transferred.
