304 is a general-purpose stainless steel, which is widely used in the production of equipment and machine parts that require good overall performance (corrosion resistance and molding). In order to maintain the corrosion resistance inherent in stainless steel, the steel must contain more than 18 percent chromium and more than 8 percent nickel. 304 stainless steel is a grade of stainless steel produced according to the American ASTM standard.
304 stainless steel is non-magnetic and has high resistance to corrosion and oxidation from atmospheric, chemical, petroleum, textile and food industry sources. It has good tensile properties _ the combination of low yield strength and high elongation allows it to be machined into complex shapes.
It has high strength and toughness even at very low temperatures (cryogenic). It has a smooth surface that is easy to clean. Its polished surface gives it a good shine and appearance. It can withstand multiple washes using detergents and household chemical cleaners.
