This activity is a continuation of the previous Chung Yeung Festival activities, and another sublimation of the spirit of respect for the elderly and love for the elderly. At the same time, the activities are rich in content, connecting college students and the elderly organically, which is conducive to cultivating students' sense of caring and establishing a noble sense of social responsibility.
On the morning of September 27, the Psychological Service Department of the College, together with the Chess Association and the Psychological Service Department of the Family Home of the River Normal University*** organized a special activity for the Chung Yeung Festival, "Forgetting the Years of Chess Friends, Joyful Chung Yeung". Elderly people in the family home and our students and volunteers **** together to practice the game of chess.
At 8:00 a.m., the students came to the family home of HNU and started to set up the venue. Afterwards, Cui Jie, director of the school volunteer service department, announced the official start of the activity. The elderly came to the chess board to practice their skills with the members of the chess club, and more onlookers present could not help but "point out a thing or two". At the end of each game, there was a referee to record the winners, and then the winners continued to play against each other, and the last eight winners were selected, and prizes of towels and laundry soap were distributed by the Psychological Service Department. At around twelve o'clock, the activity ended successfully.
The organization of this activity not only enhances the students' chess level, but also deepens the exchange of ideas between the students and the elderly, and learns the life experience of the older generation. At the same time, it also strengthened the students' awareness of the traditional Chinese virtue of respecting the elderly and loving the young, showing the humanistic care of the Law School.
