"I Am Not the God of Medicine" is a drama film directed by Wen Muye, co-produced by Ning Hao and Xu Zheng***, and starring Xu Zheng, Zhou Yiwei, Wang Chuanjun, Tan Zhuo, Zhang Yu and Yang Xinming . The film was released on July 5, 2018 in China. The movie tells the story of Cheng Yong, the owner of an oil store, who leaps from a male health product vendor who can't afford to pay the rent to the exclusive agent of the Indian generic drug "Gelenin".
Synopsis
Cheng Yong, the owner of an Indian oil store, has been living a miserable life, with no business in his store and his father in critical condition, unable to pay for his operation. His ex-wife is pregnant with a rich man and wants to take away his son's custody. One day, a leukemia patient came to the store, begging him to bring back a batch of generic drugs from India, so that patients who can't afford to buy the genuine drugs can keep a chance of life.
Cheng Yong, a reluctant but desperate man, accidentally turned the tables overnight, and the affordable special drugs saved countless lives, so that he was the patient as the "God of Medicine", but with the benefits, is a life as well as the lives of the poor patients are in a crisis of the tug-of-war between the many parties.
