Air spring is a sealed container filled with compressed air, the use of gas compressibility to achieve its elastic effect. Commonly known as gas bag, gas bag type cylinder, skin cylinder, etc..
The principle of operation is, in a closed pressure cylinder filled with inert gas or oil-gas mixture, so that the pressure in the chamber is higher than the atmospheric pressure of a few times or dozens of times, the use of the piston rod cross-sectional area is smaller than the cross-sectional area of the piston and thus the resulting difference in pressure to achieve the movement of the piston rod.
Air springs have ideal nonlinear elastic properties, after the installation of height adjustment device, the height of the body does not change with the load increase or decrease, the spring stiffness can be designed to be lower, ride comfort is good. But the air spring suspension structure is complex, high manufacturing cost.
Air springs are widely applied to self-adjusting air suspensions for commercial automobiles, buses, railroad vehicles, machinery and equipment, and building bases. Gas springs are also known as struts, angle adjusters, air pressure rods, dampers, and so on. Categorized according to their structure and function, gas springs are free standing gas springs, self-locking gas springs, traction gas springs, stop-at-will gas springs, swivel chair gas springs, gas pressure rods, dampers and several others. The product has a wide range of applications in automotive, aviation, medical equipment, furniture, machinery manufacturing and other fields.
