Basic Game Interface
Alt-F4 or Alt-q - Exit Warcraft III.
Alt-O - Opens the Options menu
Alt-h - Opens the Help menu
Alt-s - Opens the Save menu
Alt-l - Opens the Read Archive menu
F6 - Quickly saves the game
F10 - Opens/closes the main menu
Ctrl-s - Turns sound on/off
Ctrl-m - Turns music on/off
Enter - Opens the default talk window
Shift-Enter - Opens the talk window to all in-game people
Ctrl-Enter - Opens a talk window for allies
Print Screen - Takes a screenshot of the screen as a .TGA file and saves it in the SCREENSHOTS directory of your WC3 installation.

Insert - rotates the camera to the left

Mouse Wheel: Scroll up - zooms in on the camera
Mouse Wheel: Scroll down - zooms out on the camera
Pressing the Mouse Wheel: - Pressing and holding allows you to move the mouse around the map

Direction Keys - allows you to move the mouse around the map

Basic game commands:
Mouse:
Left click - to select units, buildings, and press command buttons to specify targets.
- Select units and buildings on the screen.
- Activate command buttons for units.
- Confirms the target of a command, the building or the location of a treasure or skill.
- Use a treasure from the hero's inventory.
- Discard or give a treasure to another hero.
- Tap on the mini-map to move the screen to the tapped area.
- If you have a mixed group of units, clicking on one of them will activate that group to use a special skill.
Right click - "Smart" activity on the target unit/building, ground, or mini-map.
- Ground - Move units to their destination without returning fire, even if enemies attack on the way.
- Enemy units/buildings - Attack targets.
- Own units or friendlies - follow the target.
- Trees/Gold Mines - Move units to their destination (or collect them if they are resource gathering units).
- Treasure on the ground - the hero walks over and picks up the treasure.
- Treasure in the hero's inventory - pick it up.
- While targeting a spell, etc. - Cancel the command.
- Right-click on the mini-map while targeting a spell, etc. - Moves the screen to where the mini-map was clicked.
Keyboard:
Esc - Cancel command.
Tab - Toggles between groups of the same unit in a formation.
Alt (if pressed while giving a command) - Overrides formation movement during an action.
Alt-G - Signals on the mini-map. Press and click on the mini-map to confirm the target you are signaling to your allies.
Alt-T - Enables/disables the display of terrain on the mini-map.
Alt-A - Turns on/off simple color settings. (One color for you, one color for all allies, and one color for all enemies.)
Alt-F - Turn on/off formation mode. When turned on, melee troops are automatically placed in front of ranged troops.
Ctrl (if pressed at the same time as a command) - Commands are issued only to the selected troop.
Ctrl + # - Organize the selected troop as troop #.
Shift + # - Add the selected troop to troop #.
# - Selects unit #, press it twice to move the screen to the unit.
F1-F3 - Selects heroes 1-3. Pressing this button twice in a row moves the screen to the heroes.
F8 - Cycle through the available workers. Keep switching between the available workers.
F9 - Opens the mission log window. Allows you to view all major and optional tasks and their completion status.
F12 - Opens the chat log window in multiplayer, and the full message log window in single player mode. The chat window records all messages you send and
receive, and the log window holds messages or hints you get from NPCs in the level.
Backspace - Moves the center of the screen to the center of your town.
Spacebar - Cycles the center of the screen through the last 8 event points.
Alt-C or Ctrl-C - Moves the center of the screen to your selected unit.
Shift+Selected Unit - Adds/removes the clicked unit from the currently selected unit.
CTRL+Selected Units or Double-Clicked Units - Selects all such units in the vicinity of the screen
