Henggang Town is one of the newest towns in Ruichang City with the most potential for development. The origin of the name of Henggang Township can be traced back to the name of Henggang Village, which originated from a small harbor to the west of the village, which was called "Hengxi" in ancient times. Henggang Township after liberation belonged to Henggang District, resident Henggang Village. It has jurisdiction over the townships of Dunshang, Henggang, Zhongzhen and Qingpen.
