Nikon DSLR is good, the difference is that Canon users tend to portrait and Nikon users tend to landscape. The Nikon D3500 DSLR is recommended as an excellent entry-level camera.
The D3500 is an excellent entry-level camera, the D3500 is priced slightly smaller than the D3400 was at the time of its release, while maintaining the 24 MP resolution of its predecessor, which Nikon says has an updated image sensor and processor.
For a DSLR, the D3500 is light and compact at 3.9 x 4.9 x 2.8 inches (HWD) and only about 368 grams without a lens. The bundled AF-P DX NIKKOR 18-55mm f / 3.5-5.6G VR adds about 204 grams, making the kit weigh about 1.3 pounds.
In addition to the single-lens kit, Nikon also offers the D3500 as well as the aforementioned 18-55mm and the AF-P DX NIKKOR 70-300mm f / 4.5-6.3G ED, which doesn't represent any savings, and we'd recommend skipping the kit since the 70-300mm doesn't have any image stabilization Nikon calls vibration reduction (VR).
Spend the extra for the stabilized AF-P DX NIKKOR 70-300mm f / 4.5-6.4G ED VR. you'll find that the extra cost is worth it. vr may only have two letters, but they're very important when it comes to taking sharp photos with a telephoto lens.
The D3500 doesn't stray from the DSLR design theme. It has a deep grip with the trademark Nikon red stripe, though as an entry-level model it does eschew the forward-command dial included in the SLR, aimed at serious photographers like the D7500. In the center behind the lens mount, you'll find the pop-up flash and a hot shoe for mounting external flashes or other accessories.
On the right is the mode dial. It features standard program, aperture, shutter and manual modes, as well as scene settings for various types of images, a full auto mode, a guide mode for photography novices, and effect settings for images with the look of Instagram filters, with a live view toggle switch set at the bottom of the dial.
