According to the past film experience, after the film, the store will be instructed to say 7 days do not lift the window, otherwise there will be a rolled edge of the situation. So, often in these 7 days, the owners of the car to take a parking card, highway card have to open the door, it is really inconvenient. But now I heard, Kandex new KDX wind shadow fast drying film in the film 3 hours after the window can be raised and lowered, will not affect the film effect. Is it really so? With a skeptical mind, I tested this quick-drying film.
How will we test it?
In order to compare the product characteristics of the quick-drying film, we have prepared two sets of side and rear molding films: the KDX Wind Shadow quick-drying film and the regular film. The test will be carried out in two groups, one is on both sides of the side windshield on the fast-drying film and ordinary film, and then wait for 3 hours, after 3 hours on the glass to lift the window test, to see whether the car film will appear blistering and curling edge. The second is to test the heat insulation performance of the quick-dry film and ordinary film through various instruments.
What are the above tests for? Through the above two sets of tests, we mainly to prove: 1, fast-drying film is really as advertised to achieve the effect of 3 hours fast drying? 2, fast-drying film in the premise of guaranteeing fast drying, whether the good insulation performance. 3, fast-drying film backing whether there is a pungent odor, whether it has an impact on the body?
3 hours later, the performance of the fast-drying film to lift the windowIn order to ensure the uniformity of the test conditions, we are in the same car for the test, so the drying time is also the same.
Why not just leave the car in the sun?
Why not place your vehicle directly in the sun?
Why does it work? The reason is simple: KDX fast drying film uses a black technology of rapid water evaporation, which greatly reduces the drying time of the film.
Wouldn't it be faster because the film is not the same thickness as the regular film? Just like a sweater and a T-shirt after washing, in the sun, it is definitely the thin T-shirt that dries first. With this in mind, we asked the store to do a thickness test of both films for us.
The test showed that KDX is 0.012mm thicker than the regular film. My understanding is that the thinner the film, the easier it is to evaporate the water, and the easier it is to dry, so why is KDX so much thicker, but with better drainage performance?
The KDX technician explained that this is because the KDX fast-drying film has a hidden black technology that accelerates the evaporation of water, and even in the case of the same thickness, the drying effect of the KDX film is several times that of other products.
How well does the fast-drying film insulate? The fast-drying effect is a solution to the pain point of car owners who can't raise and lower the window in time, but as an automotive film, its main functions are heat insulation, explosion-proof and privacy protection. Here, we also tested the heat insulation effect of this film through different instruments.
Spectrometer is an instrument to test infrared and ultraviolet rays as well as the penetration rate, which is a reference for the performance index of the heat-insulating film. In fact, UV stands for ultraviolet (whether you will get a tan or not is related to ultraviolet), IR stands for infrared (whether insulation is mainly related to the blocking of infrared), and VL stands for transmittance (clarity is related to transmittance). For example, if the UV value of the fast-drying film is displayed as 0.3, it means that the UV transmittance is 0.3, which indicates that it can block 99.7% of the UV rays, while the ordinary film only blocks 88.7% of the UV rays. Similarly, IR is also the same, the IR value of the fast-drying film shows 2.8, which means it can block 97.2% of infrared rays, while the ordinary film only blocks 43.1% of infrared rays.
What is the value? The device displays two sets of data, one for the temperature inside the case after the infrared light, and one for the difference in temperature between the case before and after the infrared light. You can see the left side of the test environment without film, heating before and after the temperature difference of 5.8 degrees. On the right side of the test environment with KDX fast-drying film, the temperature difference before and after heating is only 2 degrees. This shows that the film can indeed play a role in heat insulation.
One point to note here is that for each test, we need to return the temperature in the instrument to equal on both sides, but due to the limitations of the test conditions (the left side of the direct sunlight, the temperature is always higher than the right side), so in the initial value of the left side of the instrument will be higher than the right side of the temperature, and after putting in the two types of automotive film, from the difference between the temperature and the final temperature, we can still see that. KDX fast drying film has a very good thermal insulation effect.
The reason why the KDX film is so fast-drying is mainly related to the use of the black-tech quick-drying adhesive, and the goodness of the adhesive as well as the craftsmanship of the film maker indirectly determines the service life of the film. We experienced this quick-drying film, after the actual test, is really to do 3 hours fast drying, and if in the hot weather outdoor sun exposure, perhaps the fast drying time is even shorter. As for the film's thermal insulation performance, we also through the spectrometer, temperature tester tested the parameters and thermal insulation effect, test results are surface even if the fast-drying film does reach a better level of thermal insulation.
