Sudden cardiac death occurs in China more than 540,000 cases every year! However, among the huge number of sudden cardiac deaths, the success rate of out-of-hospital resuscitation is less than 1%. Sudden cardiac death has? The golden 4-minute resuscitation time? The correct use of an automated external defibrillator (AED) and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) within the 4-minute period can greatly improve the effectiveness of pre-hospital resuscitation.
I. What is AED?
AED, also known as defibrillator, is a medical device used to resuscitate patients with sudden cardiac arrest. When a patient suffers from sudden cardiac arrest, the heart can be relieved of its quivering state by an AED shock, thus restoring the heart to its normal rhythm and removing it from danger. Among them, AED is often used for patients with heart attack, especially in out-of-hospital cardiac arrest patients, most of the patients in the early stage of ventricular fibrillation, and the use of AED for treatment, not only through the shock defibrillation to make the patient's early resuscitation, but also to reduce the neurological damage. In addition to this, the operation of the AED is very simple, ordinary people can use the instrument according to its own voice prompts and screen animation, as a way to determine whether the rescued person needs to be treated with electric shock. However, the reality is that very few people know about AEDs, and even fewer understand them, leading to a stalemate for AEDs in China.
Two, AED in the domestic deadlock
At present, both at home and abroad, in large squares, subway stations and other public **** places are equipped with an AED, but the dilemma is that, in the country, many people do not know the role of the AED, and some people even do not know what the AED is. China's New Express has also done a street interview for the AED, let a person sadly, in the 25 interviewees only 3 people know the AED, and these 3 people have not had anyone had AED first aid training, which means that these 3 people may not be used or dare not use the AED. visible domestic and foreign popularity of the AED is still a big gap. The situation abroad is quite different. In Japan, for example, they have done a street interview, surprisingly, only a small part of the respondents do not understand the AED, most of the interviewees know that the AED is used for first aid medical equipment, and some of the interviewees even know the specific operation of the AED as well as able to accurately say the name of the AED and its use.
Three, how to use AED correctly?
In fact, the process of using AED is not complicated, and only requires four steps. The first is to turn on the power, find the power switch, and then press the switch or open the cover of the monitor, the AED will give voice prompts, you can follow the prompts to the next step. Second, after the power on, find the electrode sheet inside the AED, according to the different models of AED electrode sheet paste requirements, the electrode sheet pasted to the skin of the patient's chest wall, in the pasting of the electrode sheet must pay attention to can't have clothes cover. Third, then insert the electrode lead into the host of the AED, and wait for the AED to analyze automatically, it takes about 5-15 seconds, and finally listen to the defibrillation prompts, after the AED analysis, if the instrument prompts the need to defibrillate, press the ? Press the "Shock" button to defibrillate. Jian can defibrillate, it should be noted that some patients may suddenly appear convulsions during the electric shock.
