Based on the relevant provisions of the Law of the People's Republic of China on Practicing Physicians, it reads as follows:
Article 9 Anyone who has one of the following conditions may take the licensing examination for practicing physicians:
(1) those who have a bachelor's degree in medicine from a school of higher education, and who have completed the probationary period of one year under the guidance of a practicing physician in medical, preventive, and health care institutions;
(b) after obtaining the practicing certificate of a practicing assistant physician, with a medical specialty degree from a school of higher learning, in a medical, preventive or health care institution for two years; with a medical specialty degree from a secondary specialized school, in a medical, preventive or health care institution for five years.
Article 10 has a higher school medical degree or secondary specialized school medical degree, under the guidance of a licensed physician, in medical, preventive, health care institutions for a probationary period of one year, may participate in the qualification examination for practicing physician assistant.
Article XI of the teacher to learn traditional medicine for three years or after years of practice of medical expertise, by the people's governments above the county level, the health administrative department of the traditional medicine professional organization or medical, preventive, health care institutions to assess and recommend, can participate in the qualifications of licensed medical practitioners or licensed physician qualification examination. The content and methods of the examination shall be formulated separately by the health administrative department of the State Council.

The physician qualification examination registration is divided into two phases, namely, the online registration stage and on-site registration stage, online registration stage time is generally in mid-February to mid-March each year, the on-site registration stage time is generally in mid-March to early April each year.
