How to Final Sterilize Oxygen Meter

Oxygen meters are a common medical device used to provide pure oxygen therapy to patients. In order to ensure the hygiene and safety of oxygen meters, they need to be finally sterilized. Here are the steps for final sterilization:

1. First, disassemble the oxygen meter and remove all of its parts. Group the parts by type and clean them.

2. On the surface of the washed parts, spray an effective disinfectant such as 10% chlorine disinfectant or alcohol.

3. Place the parts in the sterilizer to be disinfected. You should check the expiration date of the sterilizer disinfector and the disinfection method before disinfecting.

4. Wait for the disinfection time, which usually takes 20-30 minutes. Dry the parts after disinfection. For the surface of the parts, you can wash it again with warm water.

5. Hang the sterilized parts in the sterilizer or seal them in a plastic bag of sterile items to keep them sterile.

Recommendation: Before final sterilization, the oxygen meter needs to be broken down and cleaned, a process called primary sterilization. During the disinfection process, the disinfectant should be used in the required amount; too much or too little is not desirable. After disinfection is complete, all parts should be stored in a hot, airtight environment to avoid re-contamination.
