The loading and unloading equipment includes pipelines with diameters ranging from 152.4mm to 406.4mm and tugs with maximum power of 1,103m, of which the power of the tugs is 1,030m. The maximum power of tugboat is 1103kW, and the loading and unloading efficiency is 2500 tons of diesel oil, 5000 tons of fuel oil, 2200 tons of gasoline and 2100 tons of naphtha per hour. The water depth of the anchorage for large ships reaches 17 m. The import and export cargoes of this port are mainly refined oil products.

North of the Hormuz (HORMUZ) Strait along the coast, it is the main port in southern Iran, with the Hormuz (HORMOZ) Island of Qeshm (Q-ESHM) Island as a barrier outside the harbor, which is another natural harbor. During the Iran-Iraq war, the port was gradually busy with cargo because it was far away from the battlefield. The port is about 15km from the airport and has regular international flights.
The port has a temperate continental climate with northeast winds in the morning and south to southwest winds in the afternoon. The average annual temperature ranges from 23 to 32 degrees Celsius, with the highest ever reaching 40 degrees Celsius. The average rainfall throughout the year is about 200mm. average tide height: high tide 3.3m, low tide 0.7m.

With the consent of the Iranian government, this port, along with Bandar Abbas and Bandar Khomeini, is used to transport steel and other materials used in the post-war reconstruction of Iraq.
