Kunming Medical College School of Stomatology (hospital) predecessor was founded in 1979 Department of Stomatology, in October 2001 the school according to the needs of the construction and development of the school was renamed the School of Stomatology, in September 2004 by the provincial party committee and the provincial government and the provincial Department of Health approval, the integration of the first affiliated hospital six stomatology clinical departments and the second affiliated hospital stomatology department to form the Kunming Medical College Affiliated Stomatology Hospital, in October 18, 2006 officially opened. After continuous construction and development, the School of Stomatology (Hospital) of Kunming Medical College has become the only stomatology personnel training base in Yunnan Province integrating teaching, medical treatment and scientific research.
The basic situation
The School of Stomatology and the Affiliated Stomatological Hospital are now practicing the management mode of "two plates, one set of team", with the departments of General Office, Labor Union, Youth League, Student Office, Teaching and Management Office, Finance Section, Medical and Nursing Section, Scientific and Educational Section, and Logistics and Equipment Section, etc. There are 118 regular staff members. There are 118 staff members, including 5 professors (chief physicians), 36 associate professors (deputy chief physicians), 40 lecturers (attending physicians), 12 with doctoral degrees and 34 with master's degrees. Three, discipline construction
Medical College of Stomatology currently has five teaching and research laboratories of Oral Internal Medicine, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Oral Orthopedics, Oral Histopathology and Oral Anatomy and Physiology, a comprehensive laboratory and an Institute of Stomatology, *** to provide 12 basic and clinical courses of stomatological specialties; 2001 was awarded the Yunnan Provincial Priority Construction Disciplines. In 2005, it was recognized as a provincial key specialty by Yunnan Province, and in 2006, Clinical Dentistry was recognized as the second key discipline in the "Eleventh Five-Year Plan" of Yunnan Province, and Prosthodontics was recognized as a Yunnan Provincial Fine Courses in 2006, and started to recruit master's degree graduates in 1986, and obtained the authorization point of Master's degree of Clinical Dentistry in 1997, and the authorization point of Master's degree in August 2002. In August 2002, Stomatology became a first-level master's degree authorization point. At present, the work of declaring doctoral degree is in progress.
Scientific research
The college has always attached great importance to scientific research, and the results of scientific research are encouraging. In the past three years *** dispose of 3.74 million yuan of scientific research funds, an annual average of 1.247 million yuan; scientific research projects won the provincial and ministerial awards *** 18, won two patents for invention; published five academic monographs; published 284 papers in academic journals at home and abroad, of which 11 were included in the SCI; is currently undertaking all kinds of scientific research projects 36, of which the National Natural Science Foundation of China 3 projects.
V. Foreign Exchange
The School actively advocates international exchange and cooperation, and has invited experts and professors from the United States, Canada, Japan, Thailand, and South Korea to give lectures and exchange ideas, and has established friendly cooperation with Niigata University in Japan, the School of Dentistry of Mahidol University in Thailand, and the School of Dentistry of Chiang Mai University. More than 20 teachers have gone to the United States, Canada, Britain, Japan and Thailand for further study. 2004 as the only representative of China to join the International Dental Collaborative of the Mekong River Region (IDCMR), and hosted the "Third Academic Conference of the Mekong River Basin Collaborative of Dentistry" on October 18th, 2006, when the dental hospital was inaugurated; and in August 2006, the "Third Academic Conference of the Mekong River Basin Collaborative of Dentistry" was held in the hospital. In October 18, 2006, when the dental hospital was inaugurated, it hosted the "Third Academic Exchange Meeting of Mekong Basin Stomatology Collaborative Organization"; in August 2006, it hosted the national training course on "Standardized Evaluation of Periodontal Disease Examination, Diagnosis and Treatment". In the past three years, more than 20 graduate and undergraduate students have been sent to Thailand and Beijing to participate in international academic exchange activities.
VI. Undergraduate Education
The College began to enroll undergraduates in 1979, with a five-year course of study in dentistry. So far, it has trained nearly 800 dental professionals for the society. Currently there are 230 undergraduate students (including 6 Vietnamese students). The goal of training undergraduates is to cultivate high-quality and practical dentistry talents for the Yunnan border, based on Yunnan and serving the people of all ethnic groups, and to meet the demand of oral health service of the people of all ethnic groups to the maximum extent. The schooling colors are: first, highlighting the practical teaching, focusing on training students' practical ability; second, the implementation of open mode of schooling, focusing on training students' ability to innovate.
Seven, postgraduate education
1986 for the first time to enroll master's degree students, twenty years, with the development of the discipline, the annual enrollment of postgraduate students has increased from 2-3 ten years ago to 22. In the past three years*** 64 master's degrees have been awarded. Master's degree students are mainly trained in the direction of endodontics, periodontology, oral mucosal disease, prosthodontics, orthodontics, oral prevention and pediatric medical stomatology, oral and maxillofacial plastic and cosmetic surgery, maxillofacial oncology, oral materials and tissue engineering, oral basic medicine.
VIII, hospital construction
Affiliated Stomatological Hospital is located in Kunming City, People's West Road, No. 193 (Kunming Medical College, west of the north gate), invested in the construction of funds of about 20 million yuan, a building area of 8,825 square meters, with more than 100 dental chairs and 36 beds. At present, it has eight clinical departments, including Oral Medicine, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Prosthodontics, Orthodontics, Preventive Dentistry-Children's Dentistry, Oral Specialties, Oral Medicine and Technology, and Oral Comprehensive Dentistry, as well as an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Research Center. In June 2007, the hospital was approved to become a national licensed physician qualification examination base. Yunnan Provincial Stomatological Association was established in the Stomatological Hospital. It is the largest hospital in Yunnan Province with advanced equipment, strong technical force and elegant environment.
