Regulations on funeral management
Article 7 Funeral parlors are non-profit organizations providing services of transporting, refrigerating and cremating remains. Other funeral service institutions can engage in other business funeral services except transportation, refrigeration and cremation of remains. Article 8 The civil affairs departments of the people's governments of provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government shall, according to the cremation needs of their respective administrative regions, formulate plans for the number, layout and scale of funeral parlours and submit them to the people's governments at the corresponding levels for examination and approval. After the funeral home is approved to be established, it shall go through the registration of public institutions according to law. Article 9 The transport vehicles, freezers, cremators and other funeral equipment used in funeral parlours shall meet the technical standards stipulated by the state. Funeral homes should update and transform cremation equipment that does not meet national technical standards to prevent environmental pollution. Eleventh funeral homes should disinfect the vehicles that transport the remains. Vehicles carrying infectious atypical pneumonia in Class A infectious diseases or Class B infectious diseases, lung anthrax in anthrax and human remains infected with highly pathogenic avian influenza shall be disinfected by medical and health institutions to ensure public health safety.
