On Wenbi Peak in the west of Dayao County, there is a towering tower, which is called White Pagoda because of its white body. It is divided into three parts: tower foundation, lower part, middle part and upper part. Above the octagonal sumeru, the jade column stands upright, rising and closing gradually, and there are also octagons; A 12-layer dense eaves was built in the middle of the column, which expanded the bearing surface; The upper section is a circular hammer tower with a circular top. The whole tower has a wide base, beautiful waist and magnificent top. Towers of this shape are rare in Yunnan.
It is said that when 1975 repaired the white tower, it was found that there was a square hole with a side length of 40 cm at the top of the tower. This may be the column hole where the tower brake was originally placed. The original octagonal column was 40,000 square meters with a hollow niche for the Buddha statue, which was later filled to reinforce the tower. It seems that this hammer-clearing tower has a brake top in ancient times, and the tower body has a Buddhist shrine, which is well ventilated; The shape of the existing tower is slightly different from that of ancient times. After investigation by relevant personnel, this pagoda belongs to the Lama Pagoda in Tibet, which is a relic of tantric Buddhism circulating in western Yunnan. When repairing the tower, bricks printed in Sanskrit and Chinese characters were found from the top of the tower, including the words "Buddha's Top", "Curse of Light Dirt" and "Ten Curses of Inviting Buddha's Pagoda", and bricks printed in "Wei Chijian" were also found by predecessors. According to Daoguang's Dayao County Records, this tower is said to have been built by Tubo during the Tianbao period. It can be seen that the Qing Hammer Tower was built in the middle Tang Dynasty when Nanzhao and Tubo had a good relationship.
Hutiaotan soil forest
Hutiaotan soil forest is located on the west side of Shangwumao in the northwest of Yuanmou County, 36 kilometers away from the county seat.
