Vulcan Mountain Hospital, full name: Wuhan Caidian Vulcan Mountain Hospital, with reference to the model of Beijing Xiaotangshan Hospital during the fight against SARS in 2003, a specialized hospital was built in Wuhan Staff Sanatorium, focusing on the treatment of patients with the new coronavirus pneumonia.
Building area: 34,000 square meters, beds: 1,000, built of steel frame structure, foundation concrete thickness of nearly one meter. The overall layout of Vulcan Mountain Hospital presents an ?L? shape. According to the introduction of the relevant person in charge of CITIC Design Institute, the expected life span of Vulcan Mountain Hospital is about 3 months, while the commercial buildings on the north side have not yet been delivered, and the hospital also retains a certain safety distance from the highway and the commercial building area. The main subdivisions of the Vulcan Mountain Hospital are: wards, receiving room, ICU, medical technology department, network room, supply warehouse, garbage staging room, ambulance decontamination room and so on.
Ward building: According to the design of Vulcan Mountain Hospital, the ICU beds in the hospital are set to 863, and the ideal distance between the nursing unit should be more than 20 meters, but taking into account the need to save more patients and time is short, the distance between the nursing unit is set to 15 meters. Each nursing unit has 50 beds; four nursing units are one treatment area. Three container boards are assembled into two wards, the container boards in the corridor and the wards of the perpendicular piece of plate size of 3m * 6m; steel columns for the ?L?-type angles, height 3m. different from the general beam-column structure of ? A column bears the weight of all nearby (beam) plates? The structure here is ? One slab + 4 columns? pattern, which also alleviates the load-bearing problem.
Medical Department:In an ordinary hospital, the medical department is a very complicated part, but for Vulcan Mountain Hospital, the medical department is relatively simple, the module of the medical department is changed from 3m*3m to 1.8m*1.8m, the module is reduced and the layout is more flexible.
Dr. Huang Xichyou also highlighted the internal connections in a media interview, recommending seamless connections as well as contactless designs, such as sensory sliding doors, also to prevent cross-contamination within the hospital.
