There are three partitions in the operating room, which are divided into restricted, semi-restricted and unrestricted areas.
The operating room is a place for providing surgery and resuscitation for patients and is an important technical department of the hospital. It should be located in a quiet, clean and easy to liaise with related departments. Low-level building-based hospitals, should be selected in the wings, high-rise buildings as the main hospital, it is appropriate to choose the middle floor of the main building.
The operating room shall be strictly divided into restricted area (sterile operating room), semi-restricted area (contaminated operating room) and non-restricted area. Restricted areas include sterile surgical suites, restrooms, sterile rooms, storage rooms and so on. Non-restricted areas include dressing rooms, plaster rooms, specimen rooms, dirt disposal rooms, anesthesia recovery rooms and nurses' offices, medical staff lounges, dining rooms, and lounges for families of surgical patients. Duty room and nurse's office, should be located near the entrance.
