Fourth, the most worry-free way - dependent relatives, dependents

To obtain Hong Kong status through these two ways, there is a very important prerequisite.

That is, there must be an immediate family member who has already obtained Hong Kong identity through various means, or is a Hong Kong resident, in order to make an application.

1. Dependents

If you have an immediate family member as a guarantor who has obtained Hong Kong status through the Study in Hong Kong, Merit Recognition Scheme or Specialist Scheme, then the spouse or children of the guarantor can apply for a Dependent Visa together.

This is what we often refer to as the advantage of having one person approved under the Hong Kong Talent Scheme and the whole family getting the status.

A. Features: Dependents are not restricted from studying in Hong Kong

Some people may ask: Can dependents study and work in Hong Kong? First of all, there is no restriction for all dependants to study in Hong Kong.

As for working, dependents of meritorious/specialized talents can work in Hong Kong without restriction.

But if the sponsor is on a student visa, the dependants are not allowed to work in Hong Kong during the sponsor's study period unless prior approval is obtained from the Immigration Department.

Otherwise dependants enjoy the same rights as Hong Kong status holders.

B. Application materials:

The guarantor (also known as sponsor) is required to present the following documents when submitting the application to the Immigration Department:

▲Proof of reasonable relationship (e.g. birth medical certificate, household registration, etc.);

▲Certificate that the principal applicant does not have any adverse immigration record and has no criminal conviction record;

▲Proof that the principal applicant is able to maintain his dependant's living conditions in Hong Kong;

▲Ability of the principal applicant to provide the dependant's living conditions in Hong Kong. Proof that the principal applicant is able to maintain the living conditions of the dependants in Hong Kong at a basic level or above and provide them with suitable accommodation.

(In the case of the Specialized Talent Scheme, it is stipulated that the applications can be submitted together. It is recommended that the applications be made separately, and that after the principal applicant has been approved to work in Hong Kong, he/she can then apply for his/her dependants to go there.)

2. One-way Permit (Dependent Relatives)

Using the One-way Permit method to get the most Hong Kong status for couples' reunion, some couples living separately in the Mainland and Hong Kong are counting 0.1 points a day from the date of marriage, and it usually takes 4 years to get the One-way Permit.

The main thing is to get a one-way permit must be canceled when the mainland identity, 7 years and then apply for permanent residence in Hong Kong, usually do not recommend that we get Hong Kong identity in this way, as for the reason, you can see the Galaxy Jun before the special article ......

Since getting Hong Kong permanent residence requires a cycle of 7 years, it is recommended that we get it as early as possible! The first thing you need to do is to apply for it, so that you can plan for your assets and your children's education.
