To help make the boarding process as seamless as possible for all passengers, please ensure that none of these items exceed the size limitations listed below so that they fit in the overhead bin or under your seat.
Carry-on baggage should not exceed a maximum size of 14 inches x 9 inches x 22 inches (35 cm x 22 cm x 56 cm), including handles and wheels.
Personal items (such as shoulder bags, backpacks, laptop bags, or other small items) must not exceed a maximum size of 9 inches x 10 inches x 17 inches (22 cm x 25 cm x 43 cm).
All items exceeding the size limit for carry-on baggage, as well as all baggage exceeding the carry-on baggage and personal effects allowance will be checked to your final destination, subject to applicable checked baggage service charges.
Baggage sizers are available at the check-in area so you can reconfirm your baggage dimensions upon arrival at the airport.
In addition to the permitted single carry-on baggage and single personal item allowances, passengers are permitted to bring the following items on board:
Jacket or umbrella
Reading materials
Airport-purchased food or merchandise
Assistive devices (folding wheelchairs, canes, one pair of crutches, any medical equipment that requires administration of medication, portable oxygen Concentrator, etc.)
Child restraint systems or safety seats approved for use by the FAA
Diaper bags
Breast pumps
Pet bags (applicable service fees apply for pets carried on board)
Excess baggage billing:
Service fees apply regardless of the time of baggage check-in, and the fees are determined by the airline responsible for the baggage. The carrier that sells tickets for the first segment of the itinerary (the airline whose flight number is printed on the flight boarding pass) determines the fee. If you change your itinerary on your own and the new flight is with a different carrier, the new carrier's baggage check-in policy will apply. If the carrier is not United or United Express, service charges may vary.
