HIS system is an abbreviation for Hospital information system, which is a general term for hospital information system, including clinical diagnosis and treatment subsystem, drug management subsystem, financial management subsystem, comprehensive management and statistical analysis system. Clinical diagnosis and treatment subsystem (CIS) includes outpatient doctor's workstation, inpatient doctor's workstation, nurse's workstation, clinical examination system (LIS), medical imaging system (PACS), operating room anesthesia system, electronic medical record system (EMR) and so on.
PACS system is the abbreviation of Picture Archiving and Communication Systems, which refers to the image transmission and storage system, mainly used for the storage and transmission of imaging and pathology pictures. It is part of the clinical diagnosis and treatment system. According to the level of HIS system construction in each hospital, some are integrated into the HIS system (mainly to do with the interface between HIS and PACS), and some are completely independent systems, the reason is because the PACS system is often developed by the imaging equipment manufacturers to accompany the installation of the equipment together, while the HIS system is personalized and customized by a separate company combined with the actual operation of specific hospitals.
It can be seen that PACS systems are only a part of the HIS system and cannot be replaced by each other. It is only the PACS system that can be run separately.
