Shanghai Higher Institute of Medical Instrumentation (SHIMI) was founded by the Ministry of Health in the 60s. Shanghai Higher Institute of Medical Devices was founded by the Ministry of Health in the 60's. Since September 2000, it has been transferred from the Ministry of Health to the Shanghai Municipality, and is a full-time public university under the management of the central government and the local government.
