1. General Requirements 4.1 Conduit and conduit fittings within the scope of this Part shall be designed and constructed so as to perform reliably and provide protection to the user or to the surrounding environment during normal use.
2. When installed in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions as part of a conduit system, conduit and conduit fittings shall provide mechanical and, if required, electrical protection for the insulated conductors and cables contained therein.
3, 4.2 The protection of the interface between conduit and conduit fittings shall be no less than the requirements specified for the conduit system.
4, 4.3 Conduit and conduit fittings shall be capable of withstanding the stresses that may occur during transportation, storage, recommended installation, and use.
